Dear Parents and Guardians,
I want to inform you of a new trend that is circulating throughout social media and into our schools. The “game” Space Monkey has become popular for teenagers to participate in. The gist of the “game” is for some to breathe heavily for thirty seconds and then have someone else attempt to push all of the air out of their lungs causing them to become lightheaded and pass out. This is extremely troubling as it can cause injury, brain damage, or potentially death. Please talk with your children about the seriousness of participating in this “game” . Students who participate in this type of activity on school grounds will receive appropriate disciplinary action.

The Japanese Spider Crab can weigh up to 44 lbs and live up to 100 years and lay up to 1.5 million eggs per season.

Have you ever wondered how a hen can lay an egg every day? or why eggs are different colors?
It takes a hen between 24 and 26 hours to develop an egg. Once she lays an egg, the development of a new egg normally starts within 30 minutes.
There are more than 60 breeds of chickens that lay brown, white, green and even blue eggshells which are indicative of the breed of hen.
This is part of our after school hobby club. Every week these Lil' Chef's are learning new skills to add to their culinary toolbox.
The Summer Rec Brochure will be sent home next week and will have more of these fun camps thanks to Health & Nutrition Programs, SNAP Education and Extension .
