American Indian Parent Advisory Committees (AIPAC)

• Chairperson - Sheila Thompson

• Vice Chairperson - Rita Swenson

• Teacher Representative - Carol Bliss Quinn

• Student Representatives- Current Royalty

• School Board Representative - Mark Olson

Qualifications are:

• Must be a parent, guardian, grandparent of an Indian child attending Bagley School District.

• Elections are to be held via secret ballot with nominations coming from the floor, meaning people wishing to be on the committee must be present at the elections and willing to accept the position.

• The term for these committee members is yearly.

• Lack of participation (meaning 3 consecutive parent committee meetings without prior notice to the Committee Chairperson will result in the committee utilizing its power to dismiss and cancel the committee members' connection immediately.

• One classroom teacher for one year term alternating from year to year and until each successive term has expired.

• The student representative may be appointed at the discretion of the committee and may include selection by the student body.

The JOM program is meant to be COMPLETELY Parent/Grandparent/Guardian Driven. If you have questions regarding your JOM eligible student, you are encouraged to join our monthly meetings as these are an important piece to this funding.

Qualifications are:

• Must be in attendance and willing to accept the position.

• Must have a JOM certified child/grandchild in the Bagley School District.

• Must be elected by majority vote at the annual committee election.

• Committee members must serve for 2 years.
