COLLEGE AND SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

MESSAGE FROM UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA

Good Morning!

I'm reaching out to you all because I've been made aware that some of our automatic communications haven't been working properly and I want to make sure you all receive this info (apologies if you are receiving duplicate emails!). I'd like to invite you and any students you think may be interested to attend our American Indian Virtual Campus Visit Day hosted by myself, the Office of Admissions, and the Circle of Indigenous Nations. This event will be held on October 21st from 12pm - 3pm via Zoom. During the event, I’ll talk about the admissions process and highlight all of the awesome resources and student groups we have here on campus. We'll also hear from one of our postdoctoral fellows in the American Indian Studies Department, and then follow up with a panel with some of our current students. Lastly, this event will include an optional application workshop at 2 pm for students to ask our counselors any questions they have about the application process and receive an application waiver for completing it with us during the workshop. If you or your students are interested in attending and did not yet receive an email from us, please email me or register here: z.umn.edu/VisitDayAI.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Take care,--

The above Tribal colleges may offer different types of financial aid than you can receive elsewhere. They are smaller and don't cost as much as a larger University so you can receive a smaller class size and an affordable education locally. These colleges are open to EVERYONE so anyone can apply and attend upon admission. If you have any questions please follow the links above or come see Mrs. Vik and we can look at what your educational goals are.

Information is available on two schools throughout the country who are Native American specific schools. The schools do have other admission requirements that will need to be met. These colleges are not completely free but they are more affordable to attend than another College due to BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) Funding.
